- On November 4th, 5th,
and 6th, the National Center on Deafness conducted a
transition workshop on the campus of MSDB in Great Falls. The training
was entitled "Roles, Rights, and Responsibilities of Hard of
Hearing and Deaf Students" or “The 3R Training”. This training was
conducted at no cost to MSDB or the participants. In fact, the students
who completed the training were given a $200.00 stipend!

- The students also composed a
letter of advocacy and shared it with the group. Their presentations and
letters were critiqued and evaluated by the other participants. A great
deal of meaningful, positive information was provided. The students also
had the opportunity to work in small groups to discuss and propose
solutions to a variety of issues that confront these young adults.

- This training was very well
organized and presented in a very meaningful, comprehensible manner. The
students all participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the time spent
learning and socializing with other deaf and hard of hearing students
and role models. Visit the National Center on Deafness’ website
