Cottage Homework Connection

This year the students in the cottages are continuing with the Cottage Homework Connection. Just what is the Cottage Homework Connection or “CHC”, as it is referred to by most of the students and staff in the cottage program? This is held Monday through Thursday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. This is strictly volunteer and attendance is taken. Students in Obsidian , Shoshone, Grizzly and Geyser (day students are also welcome) can go to CHC – which is held in the activity room of Yellowstone Cottage

Guidelines

  • They may sit wherever they would like.
  • Students must bring homework or something to read.
  • This is not a social hour, but rather a time to do homework.
  • Students may talk but must be related to their homework.
  • There is always a counselor and a houseparent available in the room to provide supervision and assistance.
  • Students are not permitted to bring their cell phones or pagers to the CHC.

Students receive a punch card for keeping track of their participation in this program. They will get one punch for each time they attend the CHC. After they have filled up their card (attended twenty sessions) they may select a reward. The rewards are gift certificates to various places around town (fast food, video rentals, etc.).
